Women Taking Action» Organisational History

Women Taking Action is a non-profit company made up of 7 women from around the world who have joined forces in an attempt to make a difference in the lives of South Africa's marginalized communities. The organization was formed in February 2016 and members have pledged to hold at least one event every month. WTA is firmly committed to Community Outreach and the development agenda in South Africa and aim to create an environment in which all human beings in the country have an equal chance, not only to survive but also to prosper and reach their full potential. WTA believes that the increase in wayward behavior as well as the increase in the number of young people entering SA's penal system is a direct result of poverty and the lack of activities and resources in impoverished communities.

WTA believes that the first step to real change in SA is government taking our hand and walking a road with us. Working in partnerships with government departments on various initiatives focused at the poorest communities, offers an ideal opportunity to tackle and eradicate poverty more comprehensively through merging our joint resources, experience, knowledge and programs. Partnerships will also help to develop a multi-purposed opportunity for change in SA and remove the boundaries that are limiting community outreach in the country.
