Women Taking Action (WTA) is a non-profit company made up of women from around the world
who have joined forces in an attempt to make a change by strengthening the lives of South Africa's
marginalized and poor through various programmes. The organisation was
formed in February 2016 and conducts all outreach initiatives with the
support of Government and the firm commitment to the Community Outreach and Development
agenda in South Africa. Working in partnership with government departments on various programs offers a
more significant opportunity to improve these communities through merging joint resources,
experience, knowledge and programs. Members are of the belief that the time has arrived for
the private sector to share in the responsibility of fulfilling the vision of government to take care of the poor.
The organisations areas of change are through Community Outreach programmes (Elderly, Young Girls, Women and Children), UrSlam Factor competition (Inmates of Correctional Centres), Pap Smear Programmes (Female offenders, Rural and poor Women), Wellness and Hair & Beauty Training (Inmates of Correctional Centres).
